Lions Head is a mountain in its own right, it gives wonderful city, sea, and mountain views nearly all round, and although 659m high it is easily accessible and quickly ascended. It includes scramble sections involving hands as well as feet.
Best times: Any time that the weather is clear. Bright moonlit night the experience is wonderful.
The walk is met with a Jeep track, which doubles back south-westwards, and begin to work clockwise round the mountain. The views all around are striking right from when you start, there are several well placed bench seats along the track.
The walk boasts Table mountain, Robben island and Signal hill, also a Muslim shrine.
